The government of Chiapas has just passed a law that every resident must keep a stone idol in his or her house. You do not have to worship the idol, but it is mandatory to have it in your home, otherwise you will be imprisoned for five years. Do you keep the idol in your home to avoid arrest and continue to witness to others? Or do you refuse to put a false god in your house and face imprisonment?
That is kinda a tough one, but I say keep it in your house as long as u don't worship it. Plus it doesn't say where u have to have it so u could keep it in your basement in a box and not ever look at it. It says in the bible not to put any other gods before our God, so u can abide by the law,and still abide by the most important law, God's law of course!! well thats what I would do. talk to u later.
i see what ur getting at with it julian..... but me, what i would do, is i wouldnt keep it in my house. because i belive and worship one God and one God only. and thats how it is for me. im not gonna keep some false junk inside my house. Lord only knows that it may really be the devil! hmmmm! but hey, thats just the little mind of lisa! tehehe! lol

I will not be brought down by your name calling. Besides (1)you're suppose to SPEAK LIFE!(you hurt my feelings) (2)The lord gives each of His children different gifts and He just happened to make Me an observer! So there! Take that name caller! but it's okay because I forgive , even if you didn't ask for it. It goes to show that I'm a better christian than you.

Well. 'Tis somewhat of a quandary, this question. I think I would just put up the stone idol. And, for the same reason why I would keep a TV in my house, or pornography, or anything that I know I sometimes put before God. (The whole pornography thing is just an example, btw.) Why would I be averse to putting something up, like an idol, when I know that other things take their place before God sometimes, in worse ways than anything that stone idol can do to my life? I'd keep the idol up, to obey the law. The only reason I'd be against putting it up is if the government forced me to worship it, because that goes against God's law. But, in any case, until the other material things in my life cease to be *idols* in their own way, I can't object to putting up a meaningless stone idol in my home. It lacks depth. I don't care for it the way I would my magazines, for instance. I'd put the idol up, and work on putting God first all the more, so that nothing could be said of me. Just my thoughts.
...... Btw...I'm Patrice! And I just joined today. Cuz Joey made me. Yeah, he's a meanie. J/k.

^Agreed. That's my stance as well. But we seriously agree on everything so.. why bother even saying it.
In my heart I would not want it in my house. But I know I would, just so to not get in trouble, put it in my house and just not worship the thing.
Blessings!
